Thanksgiving in Wisconsin

janaree's outdoor slumber party
I love the background which dates our house in aurora. The garage is still there (the one I had to jump off of in order to be in the club) and the red and white fence that marked the dairy queen next door. The picnic table was home made by my dad.
This wasn't a birthday party because I had wanted to have a slumber party where we could sleep in the tent. We played badmitton (sp?) and croquet.

We arrived at Estes at seven a.m. on Wednesday but couldn't get into our room until four. Here we are posing for a well meaninged passer by. We were actually setting up the pose to take a picture of the woman talking on the phone in the background. We got the shot anyway.

usually from 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. the veranda is empty and pleasant for rocking back and forth in wicker rocking chairs looking at the mountains. about 9:45 a.m. the tourists start arriving to take the historic tour and they fill the veranda and take endless pictures of each other.
